Full House Rewiring — London & Kent

A full rewire replaces every circuit, cable, socket, and switch in your property — typically because the existing wiring has reached the end of its safe life, or because you're undertaking a major renovation that requires a fresh electrical installation from scratch.

DM Electrotechnical Services Ltd carries out full and partial house rewires across London and Kent. All work is NAPIT certified, completed to the 18th Edition of the Wiring Regulations (BS 7671), and fully documented with an Electrical Installation Certificate. Finance available through Klarna and Clearpay.

When is a rewire necessary?

Your property was built before 1970 and has never been rewired — rubber-insulated or lead-sheathed wiring degrades over time and becomes a fire risk.

Your EICR has returned an Unsatisfactory result due to widespread wiring deficiencies.

You are undertaking a full renovation and want a clean electrical installation built into the finished property.

You are extending a property and the existing wiring cannot support additional circuits.

You have experienced repeated electrical faults, burning smells, or tripped circuits across multiple areas of the property.

Rewires typically cost £3,500–£8,000 depending on property size. Have the work done safely now and spread the cost interest-free with Klarna or Clearpay.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does a full house rewire take?

A typical 3-bedroom semi-detached property takes 5–7 working days. Larger properties, listed buildings, or those requiring additional chasing and remedial decoration take longer. We provide a detailed programme at the quotation stage.

Do I need to move out during a rewire?

We recommend it. During a rewire, power is periodically unavailable and there is significant dust and disruption from chasing cable routes into walls. Most customers find it more practical to stay with family or arrange short-term accommodation for the duration of the work.

Will a rewire damage my walls and decorating?

All rewires involve some degree of chasing — cutting channels into walls for new cables. We minimise this where possible and use surface-mounted trunking in areas where chasing is not practical. We make good all chasing with plaster, but full redecoration is the customer's responsibility unless agreed otherwise.

Is finance available for rewires?

Yes. Given the scale of a full rewire, we actively encourage customers to use our Klarna or Clearpay finance options. Rewires typically cost £3,500–£8,000 depending on property size. Finance lets you have the work done safely now and spread the cost interest-free.
